Taking care of your property during the summer can help maintain its appearance and functionality, as well as prevent costly repairs. Here are some tips to keep your property in great shape:

Exterior:

Beat the heat:
Clean your gutters and downspouts to prevent clogs and water damage from summer storms .

Inspect your roof for any loose shingles or damage that could worsen in the heat.

Consider applying a fresh coat of paint to exterior surfaces, if needed, as sun can damage paint over time.

Yard work:
Regularly mow your lawn at a slightly higher height to promote deeper, healthier roots that can better withstand the heat.

Water your lawn deeply and infrequently, aiming for one inch of water per week.

Regularly remove weeds to prevent them from stealing water and nutrients from your grass.

Interior:

Keep cool:
Schedule maintenance for your air conditioning system to ensure it's running efficiently. Clean air vents and filters to remove dust and allergens that can irritate occupants

Preventative measures:
Clean out sink drains and faucet traps to prevent clogs. Check for any leaky pipes or faucets and address them promptly to avoid water damage.

General cleaning:
Give your windows a thorough cleaning, inside and out, to remove dust and improve visibility.  Clean the baseboards and bathroom vents to remove dust and allergens.

Regular maintenance and care during the summer can extend the life of your property, keep it looking its best, and prevent future problems.
